DIY Phone Charger using an Altoids Tin

Is your phone’s battery dead and you desperately need to make a phone call…or play some Clash of Clans? Fear not, you can make your own DIY phone charger  just from items you can find laying around your home. You can make a DIY phone charger with an old Altoids tin and about $5 worth of gear or free if you can scavenge the parts from around your house.  This DIY phone charger project is great if you are in a pinch and need to quickly charge your phone or if you want to build this in advance to carry some backup power with you.

 

For this DIY project you will need:

  • 9V Snap Connects (new or scavenged from other electronics)
  • Altoids Tin
  • 9V Car Charger
  • Electrical Tape
  • 9V Battery
  • Rubber band
  • Multi Tool
